Safety Eye Sensors Installation and Repair in Brevard County

The placement of your garage door’s safety eyes are super important! They even have the word SAFETY in the name, which should be a no-brainer, right?

But here is a little breakdown for you, just in case:

These devices function as the literal eyes of your garage door. Placing them too high can allow for small animals, children and other objects to not trip the opener (motor) of your door to raise back up, thereby causing damage to the door and its parts or worse yet, injury or dare we say death to a person or pet.

The industry standard is to have your safety eyes mounted 2-6 inches from the ground so that they function properly.

Sometimes your safety eyes can become misaligned. This can be due to several factors but more commonly they got bumped and are no longer lined up or the sun is directly hitting them not allowing the beams to find each other; think squinting your eyes when it’s sunny, it’s a little blurry right?

Sometimes this can be an easy adjustment for the homeowner to make on their own, but if you find yourself in a jam with a garage door that won’t close don’t hesitate to give us a call at Coastal Garage Door Solutions so that we can schedule an appointment to further investigate the issue you’re experiencing.
